The newest version of Scorpio SUV has entered the automobile market with two diesel engine options in various trims. Among these, Mahindra Scorpio S2 9 Seater is a base level variant that is incorporated with a 2.5-litre, m2DICR turbocharged engine. This four cylinder motor can churn out a peak power of 75bhp along with a maximum torque output of 200Nm. It has a robust body structure that is fitted with a number of striking exterior aspects. The front fascia looks aggressive with a rectangular shaped headlight cluster, bold radiator grille and a bonnet scoop. The side profile has door handles and a set of steel wheels that are covered with tubeless radial tyres. It rear end includes a tailgate with black colored appliqué, large windshield and a bright tail light cluster. Exteriors:

This sports utility vehicle is built with an overall length of 4456mm along with a width of 1820mm (excluding the outside rear view mirrors). It has a total height of 1930mm, large wheelbase of 2680mm and has gross weight of 2510 kgs. To start with the front fascia, it has a rectangular shaped headlight cluster that is integrated with high intensity headlamps. It surrounds the large radiator grille that includes vertically positioned slats. The prominent logo of company is further engraved at the center of this grille. The frontage is designed with a large windscreen that is equipped with a couple of wipers. The sporty scoop and expressive lines on its hydraulic assisted bonnet further adds to its appearance. The black colored bumper is revamped and fitted with a wide air intake section. The side profile includes a side step, external mirrors as well as door handles. It is integrated with four cylinders and twelve valves using a SOHC based valve configuration. It has the ability to churn out a maximum power of 75bhp at 3200rpm in combination with a peak torque output of 200Nm between 1400 to 2200rpm. It is mated with a new five speed manual transmission gear box, which sends the engine power to its front wheel. It allows the SUV to achieve a maximum speed of about 150 Kmph. While it has the capacity of braking the speed barrier of 100 Kmph in close to 18-19 seconds from a standstill. This diesel mill in incorporated with a common rail based direct injection fuel supply system that helps in producing a maximum mileage of 14 Kmpl, which is approved by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India).

Braking and Handling:

This variant has a rack and pinion based hydraulic power steering system, which is tilt adjustable and makes handling effortless. It supports a minimum turning radius of 5.4 meters. This variant is bestowed with a number of aspects for the convenience of its occupants. It has a tilt adjustable steering wheel, which makes it easy to handle even in peak traffic conditions. The HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioner) unit comes with rear AC vents, which keeps the entire cabin cool. This trim is bestowed with a 12V power sockets in front center console for charging electronic devices. Apart from these, it also has internally adjustable external wing mirrors, side stepper, all four power windows with switches on center console, full vinyl seats and second row cup holder on console.
