It was difficult to detect a diesel engine when driving with the windows down on the Sonet. It's undoubtedly the case with many vehicles that mechanical noises are simply drowned out by the outside noise and buffeting wind, but there's no denying that the Sonet diesel is essentially a highly refined car. And when I eventually got behind the wheel after going home and resuming my home-office-home routine (enough of WFH! ), it was this extremely amazing refinement that I first noticed. In reality, the 115 horsepower 1.5 diesel engine that was taken directly from the Seltos, as well as the similarly smooth 6-speed torque converter that was also taken from the Seltos but with a higher final drive ratio, maybe the Sonet's greatest assets.
