Safety is a major concern with the Kia Seltos. A friend of mine had a collision within city speed limits with a drunken oncoming driver, which resulted in severe injuries and the car being a total loss, even at relatively low speeds. The sheet metal quality appears to be sub-par when compared to competitors like the Kushaq, Taigun, and Grand Vitara. While the Seltos offers good comfort, ride quality, and features, its structural integrity is notably lower than other vehicles in the same segment. The car received a rating of 8.03 out of 17 in Global NCAP, meaning it achieved a 3-star rating by just a 0.03 margin (a score below 8 stars corresponds to a 2-star rating). In a segment where safety is crucial, and other manufacturers offer vehicles with 4-5 star NCAP ratings, Kia's cost-cutting in this important aspect is concerning. Additionally, the mileage in city conditions is around 7-8 km/l. While the car boasts impressive features and interiors, cost-cutting is evident in the build quality. Overall, it seems like a car more suited for city use and raises concerns for highway safety.
