I have Maruti Alto K10 AGS (also known as amt usually). Its been driven around 11000 KM'S and no major issue with automatic transmission. Anyone looking for the convenience of the drive-in city please go ahead with an amt option without any doubt. Below a few doubts which you have with automatic transmission and I am Sharing my personal experience. Any more information, please let me know. Its Automatic transmission reliable- Yes it is based on my usage and it's been 1.5 years of use Is cost for servicing is high comparing manual transmission- No, it's almost the same Will automatic transmission works on hill perfectly - Yes it works well, until steep heights, You can use manual version of K10 in that time without any issues. I drove the K10 on automatic transmission from Chandigarh to Dharamshala and back to Chandigarh without any issues Chandigarh to Baijnath and return Chandigarh to sujanpur where on hills I used manual transmission for effortless drive on steep heights All and all AGS is good option still few challenges as below you might face which I faced Immediate pickup lacks with Automatic transmission (not very much is issue, as I drive within 70-80km per HR Suspensions, are pretty stiffed boot space is a challenge in K10 Steering is not smooth as expected on hill areas Practical mileage is around 16 to 18 in city without AC On-highway I got 18.5 without AC and with AC 16.5.
