Story : The Honda Citys Immortality in The Market

Honda has its play in almost every segment in the Indian market. But coming to the C segment, which is the midsize sedan segment, the City has always been a favorite among buyers looking for a refined engine, quality, and equipment. Back in the late 90s, the first generation of the City, a package including eye-pleasing exteriors and practical interiors was introduced. And in my opinion, it was a car that completely redefined the ideology of a midsize sedan, with a peppy engine and city-friendly dimensions. Then, in around 2002, we had the 2nd generation of the City, which was so well designed that it still looks appealing, and has stood the test of time and aged gracefully. Then, in 2008, the 3rd generation was launched, with a more confident stance and arrow shot design philosophy. The interiors were drastically upgraded, with touches like aux-in and usb. But after a good 4 years of strong sales, the arrival of rivals like the Verna with a refined diesel engine, seemed to pull attention off the City. In 2014, the fourth generation made its appearance. With character lines and a sloping design, paired with the positive design elements from the earlier generation, it had an air of sportiness and practicality with design elements which looked co-ordinated, like the headlamps which were as thick as the chrome bar that connected them, and tail lamps which joined the chrome strip above the number plate, with best in class cabin space and a 510 litre boot.?This was when Honda played its game by adding segment first features like a sunroof and a touchscreen Air Conditioning control panel, and other features like bluetooth, a 5 inch infotainment screen, blue illuminated dials and cruise control. Last but not the least, a diesel engine. But, this engine was way too noisy and didnt attract buyers. But the classic 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol covered up for the diesel. But with new competition like the Ciaz, Honda was enlightened by the misses in the car which called for a midlife update in 2017. This update just filled up the problems in the 2014 model. The revised front end including LED headlamps, a thicker chrome band, accompanied by a Honeycomb cut grill, which adds to the bold design and the striking looks Honda tried to pursue. Move to the side, and you will notice a bigger 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, which not only look better, compared to the earlier 15 inchers but also are thicker and hence add more grip. From the side itself, you notice new white taillamps, which mean they are LEDs (only available on ZX variant) Step into the cabin, and you wont think much has really changed from the 2014 model, the same steering wheel, and the general dash layout, which in itself is an eye catcher thanks to piano black finishes and none the less, a silver T running through, has nothing much new, except the quality of plastics and the materials used has improved, replacing the hard industrial plastics. The changes include a new 7 inch touchscreen infotainment called 'DigiPad' by Honda, which was sorely missed. This is an android based system, which has more than the basics. Apart from the usual Bluetooth, Aux, USB and CD player, you get Mirror Link, Navigation and a web browser used by a phones 3G or 4G hotspot. On the safety front, Honda has offered 6 airbags on the ZX variant and Dual airbags on the other variants. Features like ABS and EBD are also included. The rear bench is the best in its segment with plush leather and spot on cushioning, with door bottle holders and dual tone doorpad, making it look rich and premium. The once blue dials are now white, which maybe a hate it or love it factor. The diesel engine does better on refinement, but not as well as its close pals. And yes, the classic 1.5 Litre Petrol engine , giving out 120 hp is still intact, for you petrolheads out there.? Variants: Petrol Variants: Diesel?S- Manual SV- Manual ?SV- Manual V- Manual/Automatic VX- Manual? ZX- Manual ?ZX- Automatic ?Pros:?Best in class cabin space ?Honda reliability Best in the Class boot - 510 litres ?Most fuel efficient diesel in its segment. 8 speaker audio system? Cons:?Premium price of almost 18,00,000 for top variant? Misses on common features like SmartTrunk, Apple Carplay and Android auto? No Petrol MT on ZX variant ?Conclusion:?The Honda City has had a great success and Honda seems to have come back well to stick to the new features to make the City a segment leader and help it stand the test of time. No other car offers space as well as the City, which is a factor that bridges the gap between the C Segment and D Segment, which is not a bad thing. As a family car combined with the fun filled drive experience, the City is the segment leader without a doubt.? Here are all the factors which led us to buy a Honda City 1.5 VX MT Petrol for the Third time, over the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid and VW Vento. Mileage (max) : 15 kmpl Service costs : Roughly, 8,000 per service On road price : 14,32,768 Old car Selling Price: 4,25,000. (5 years, 35000 kms)

City 4th Gen Looks Got Worse
Honda City 4th Gen looks got worse. I was very much fond of Honda City looks and design since my childhood, but now they have degraded the looks and appearance. Nevertheless, they have made some new and advanced features along with premium interior and ventilated seat. The dashboard and instrument cluster looks more defining and aesthetic. The driving experience has also been enhanced and i must say, i really enjoy driving new Honda City.

Honda City Fourth Gen Has Sporty Appearance
The Honda City Fourth Gen model of 2022 gives the sedan a more upscale and premium appearance, and it also became the most popular model in the segment. Also, the color choices are giving it more value. The new model with updated features and sporty-looking steering was appealing to me, and it is also reasonably priced.

Honda City 4th Generation Is The Best Car Ever
Honda City 4th Generation meets all of my specifications. I needed a vehicle that could accommodate five guests and their luggage in the boot. The city has a good engine, and I'm not a performance guy. I desired a comfortable and smooth ride. The Honda City's ground clearance is also not a concern in this generation. Pros: a relaxing ride Excellent engine Interior and exterior views of the boot compartment Cons: When the vehicle is locked, the rearview mirrors can be closed automatically. The infotainment system does its job, although it might be better.

Honda City 4th Generation A New Approach Car
The all-new Honda City 4th Generation is a class sedan car with interesting features to look for. I bought it some months back, but the driving experience is still the same as that of a fresh and new car. The price range is affordable. I like the color options as well.

      It Is A Gorgeous Car
The gorgeous car I bought is a Honda City 4th generation. The engine is quiet and polished. Except for the gearbox, which is a little difficult to get into second, everything is flawless. Because the sales consultant didn't maintain any openness, as I subsequently learned, the dealership experience was just ordinary. There was a fee added.
