Renault India has rolled out the 2014 Renault Koleos luxury SUV in India in three variants. Many expected that the company will be launching this facelifted version during the Indian Auto Expo 2014, but above all expectations, the company introduced it a couple of weeks before the event. The Renault Koleos 4x4 MT is one of the high end variants in the series and it is blessed with the same 2.0-litre engine, which is tuned in order to improve the power output. This turbo diesel engine is capable of delivering 16.26 Kmpl of mileage, which is rather good for its caliber. The company introduced this facelifted version with major cosmetic improvements in terms of both exteriors and interiors. This trim comes with a modified radiator grille, refurbished bumpers, silver satin scuff plates and much more. As far as interiors are concerned, this trim comes with premium beige leather seats, a high end Bose audio system and many other such aspects that adds to the customer excitement. With such exciting new changes, this latest version of Renault Koleos will be able to lure customers towards buying it.

Exteriors:

This SUV comes with exciting new exterior features that gives it a rugged look. This trim comes with a reshaped radiator grille with chrome inserts along with a tweaked bumper, which brings an intimidating look to the frontage. This particular trim also comes with silver satin roof rails, rear spoiler and few other exterior features, which brings a full-fledged off-roader look to this vehicle. On the other hand, this refined version comes with the same body structure and design without much change to its exterior dimensions. The total length of this SUV is calculated at 4520mm and width at 2120mm (including the external mirrors). The overall height of this four wheeler is about 1710mm and its minimum ground clearance is calculated at 188mm. What truly impressive about this vehicle is its large wheel base of 2690mm and its wading depth of about 450mm. The manufacturer has rolled out this latest trim in a total of four fascinating exterior paint options such as a vibrant looking Maple Red shade, a subtle looking Black Metallic shade , a magnificent White Pearl garnish and an Ultra Silver color shade. On the whole, the facelifted version of Renault Koleos gets a rugged look, which will definitely lure the SUV enthusiasts in India.

Interiors:

This Renault Koleos 4x4 MT is one of the top end variants available in its series and it comes with modified interiors. The company has fitted luxurious seats and covered them with leather upholstery. The two tone dashboard comes equipped with a dual zone air conditioning unit that enables the driver and front passenger to select blower and temperature preferences with the help of “soft-auto-fast” controls. Also, this dash has been equipped with a three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel mounted with audio control switches. The cockpit comes fitted with captain seats that can be adjusted effortlessly with a touch of a button. There are many other utility based features fitted inside the cabin including the rear glass electric defroster, under floor storage unit, seat back tables, cup holders in front central console are just to name a few.

Engine and Performance:

The engine fitted under the hood of this top end variant has been tuned for improving the power and torque output. This 2.0-litre diesel mill comes with a total displacement capacity of 1995cc . This dCi engine is equipped with 4-cylinders, 16-valves and a turbo charging unit, which will enable it to produce a maximum power output of about 170.6bhp, which yields a peak torque output of about 360Nm at just 2000rpm. This commanding torque output is sent to all the four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission gearbox in the form of 4WD layout. It takes only about 9.9 seconds for the vehicle to reach a 100 Kmph mark, which explains about its power and caliber. This refurbished SUV comes with an ARAI certified mileage of 16.26 Kmpl, which is rather good.

Braking and Handling:

The automobile company hasn't compromised on the braking and handling aspects of this refurbished SUV. All the four wheels of this Renault Koleos 4x4 MT trim have been fitted with a set of high performance ventilated disc brakes and it is assisted by the advanced ABS with EBD and emergency braking technology. Cons: Fuel economy can be improved, cost of maintenance is high.
