A combination of Glamour and Practicality.
Vitara Brezza is one of the premium offerings from the house of Maruti Suzuki. I personally own the ZDI version. I consider the ZDI trim to be the most VFM. I have driven the car for almost 7500 km from December 2018 and I am truly satisfied over its performance. I will categorically mention the pros and cons. Pros: 1. Looks and stance of an SUV. Looks matter after all. 2. Wider and high profile tyres and decent ground clearance give you an edge over the uneven roads. I owned a Swift before this and I can clearly feel the difference in uneven roads where Brezza excels and gives me enough confidence. 3. The long journey doesn't feel to be tiresome now with the high seating position and excellent seats that are crafted to provide you optimum back and lumbar support. I am 6'4" and still feel much comfortable with Brezza. Ingress and egress is a breeze. 4. HVAC is good if not best. But better than other Maruti counterparts. Cools the cabin within 5 minutes even though the car stays parked in the sun. 5. Mileage is awesome. I have received 18 to 23 kmpl average on a full tank to full tank basis. My monthly ride comprises 65% City and 35% Highway drive. Obviously, FE increases when highway rides are more. 6. Built Quality is definitely better than other Maruti cars. Though it's not the best in its class. 7. Brakes and handling of the car are superb. High-speed cruising is not a problem with the vehicle. 8. Rear seat space is very nice. The average height of my family members is 5.8 but all can be accommodated comfortably. 9. Lots of practical utility spaces will help you and your family members to keep their mobiles and knick-knacks easily. Now the cons. 1. Though AC is good rear AC vents could have taken the comfort level to the next level. 2. The sound quality of in-car music system is the worst. Even there is no touch screen infotainment in the ZDI trim. They have not even provided tweeter to enhance sound quality. Stock speakers are totally worthless. Only ZDI+ gets touch screen infotainment. 3. Though the 1.3-litre DDIS diesel engine has been tuned to work fine with Brezza it feels the lack of punch in acceleration, especially when AC is on revving gets harder. It takes time to ignite the turbocharger when you are running with AC and you need sudden acceleration. My Swift used to move like a dart but not the case with Brezza. 4. Interior plastic quality is hard. Soft touch plastic would have given a premium feel to the interior. Final verdict Brezza is definitely the best option for regular commuters who spend a lot of time behind the wheels but it's certainly not the best choice for driving enthusiasts who want on-demand acceleration. Service network of Maruti Suzuki is widely spread so getting a service provider even in the remotest places will not be hard. I give it 4 out of 5 stars as I have personally felt the 1.3-litre engine to be a puny power train.
