The latest Honda City comes with a lot of new features including a more fuel-efficient engine and a multimedia system supporting both Android and Apple smartphones, all in a classy and sleeker body. With a better fuel economy and top-line specification levels, the new Honda City delivers a good value for money. DESIGN Interiors have been improved in design and space. Five adults can sit in the car in relative comfort with a significant increase in head, leg and shoulder room as compared to the previous models. FEATURES The multimedia system has a seven-inch display with Bluetooth connectivity for Apple and Android smartphones, including audio streaming. It has power windows, leather seat covers and an optional automatic sunroof. ENGINE / TRANSMISSION It has a 1498cc engine with Diesel and Petrol variants. Both have manual and automatic transmission sub-variants available. Power and torque are unchanged in the new model at 88kW and 145Nm respectively. However, the lightweight body boosts the fuel efficiency to 17.4kmpl in city and highway combined average, the in-city average being 14.3kmpl. SAFETY Honda has given an equal importance to the safety of passengers with airbags, parking sensors, fog lamps, ABS, EBD and rear seat belts. With ABS braking, electronic brake-force distribution, emergency braking, vehicle stability assist with traction control, the safety is ensured in the car. Variants have 2 and 6 airbag options for passengers' safety. A reversing camera and rear parking sensors are an option in some variants. DRIVING The City absorbs the road irregularities quite well and is good for Indian roads. Like all Honda cars, it has a good balance of handling and comfort. Features like start/stop button, cruise control and climate control make the drive seamless and comfortable.
