Kia Seltos - Positives & Negatives

No doubt, Kia Seltos's entry into the market has set a benchmark for the design and features but my personal experience is a bit mixed. Positive:- 1. Car's interior gives a premium feel for drivers as well as passengers, be it the front display panel, sound experience, or side door panel. 2. Overall the performance is up to the mark but the pickup is a bit questionable (Petrol Variant). 3. In speed lane changing, and road presence are pretty good in this sub SUV segment. 4. Though, the brand has launched the car in various models, the price gap and features accompanying it are reasonably priced. Negative:- 1. As far as safety is concerned, I don't find Seltos comparable to Tata or Mahindra. Providing just 2 airbags (though they have updated to 4/6 in the latest versions) in such a premium car is not satisfactory. Moreover, the build quality can literally haunt you while driving. 2. The car's mileage while driving intra-city can scare the owners, but as I researched it's almost the same as other cars with a 1500 cc engine. 3. One thing that can make the customers think twice to buy Seltos is the maintenance cost. Though the expense is just once a year, as Kia is an emerging brand maintenance costs can look a bit high. Conclusion - If you can compromise with safety, then Seltos is good to go. Just make sure to test drive the car and choose your variant after considering all the costs and features you require most.
