What's Cool VW Ameo is a simple looking car loaded with fantastic features. As the name(AMO =Love) suggests , one will truly fall in love with the classy features that VW has offered for the price (in the segment). The Highline version car has legion of features like 1) cruise control, 2) rain sensing wipers, 3) center arm rest, 4) anti-pinch power windows , 5) static corner lights, 6) touchscreen infotainment music system with Mirror link, 7) reverse parking camera, 8) parking sensors, 9) iPod connectivity, and 10) phonebook and SMS viewer. The interiors of the Ameo car are also well built . The Ameo is powered by a 1.2Litre, 3-cylinder (sure for mileage) MPI engine and a 5-speed manual gear box. It is a compact sedan for the Indian market, it is based on the Polo version with boot space of 330 liters which is ample enough for luggage. For safety, it is loaded with two airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), speed sensing door lock , child seat anchor points, child safety lock and seat belt warning system. It offers a decent 165mm of ground clearance. Overall, Driving the Ameo car is balanced for me and it is giving a decent fuel mileage of 15kmpl. The car is also able to adapt to the city conditions. An interesting point to note: Usually, Volkswagen cars are not preferred by middle class( or economy class) people for the high servicing costs . This time VW has come up with fantastic plans (i.e. care and care plus packages) and therefore well taken care off post service financial issues.   Now, Ameo's winning point is its pricing. It ranges from Rs 5.44 - 9.55 lakhs, ex-showroom price Bangalore. This makes the Ameo a value for money option. Thus offering a middle class person to afford a High class vehicle without second thoughts.   What's Not So Cool   1) The first uncomfortable/disappointing point for me in the Ameo is a stiff rear suspension. The Ameo is little putting off when I go over a speed-bump or a pot-hole at marginally higher speeds. 2) It does produce minor sound inside the car while driving (could be because of 3 cylinder technology) . 3) I need to lower my gear to increase the power sometimes 4) the room for rear seat is a bit low but it has created a decent boot space (in trunk).   Finally, if you are looking for good safety features, simple, solid build quality, and a feature loaded compact sedan which gives premium feel then, the Ameo car is the best. But, if you require very good performance, then probably you should try look at its competitors.
