Best Value For Money MPV in India- Limited Edition Version

Maruti Ertiga, when launched was not one of the most great looking MPV's in India. Rather the concept for a family MPV had just started to take shape in the Indian automotive space. It looked more like an extension of Maruti Swift, and why not, as it is built on the similar chassis. A lot of body and engine parts have been taken from Maruti Swift only. But keeping in mind the background, Maruti Suzuki has definitely done a great job in making a successful MPV. P.S- Maruti sells Avg.4500- 5000 Ertiga monthly across India, which shows how people love the MPV. I have bought the Limited Anniversary Edition model of Ertiga when it was launched in Aug. The car has add on Anniversary kit on top of a standard VXi & VDi versions of Ertiga. This car had everything, rather more features than what I was looking for. The limited Edition model has the following extra features than a standard Vxi/Vdi version- External difference- Front 3slate chrome grill (gives it a more premium look from the front), Chrome door handles(Add more grip to the slim handles besides looking nice from the side view, Multi spoke Satin finish Alloys(Awesome design, simply love them), Rear Spoiler and most importantly, the Limited Anniversary Edition Body graphics on the sides and rear of the car(The graphics run from front doors to the rear quarter panel and on the rear boot of the car. Interior difference- Special Limited edition Black and Beige combination. The standard interior dashboard of the car comes in a grey color with beige seats and interiors. But this edition came with a Balck dashboard with beige interiors. This combination looks absolutely stunning in terms of the looks and also in terms of the practicality. The black dashboard doesn't show any hand-marks/ stains and the best part is that it doesn't reflect on the front windscreen during driving in the day, as a result it doesn't hamper the driving. The interior is also covered in special wooden strips, running from front doors to the centre console. The Audio system is an upgrade from the standard version and has been taken from the top end ZXi/Zdi version. The audio system has CD, FM, AUX & USB ports to connect your devices. What the car only lacks in the interiors is steering mounted audio controls(standard in ZXi/Zdi) and front Arm rest. Space- When you step inside an Ertiga you cant believe the kind of space that Maruti Suzuki has packed inside this MPV. The front seats are really spacious even for a 6" tall person. Infact a 6"feet tall driver has to pull his seat forward to adjust to his driving position. The seats have a very comfortable under thigh support along with a soft back support as well. The seating position is also high and gives good commanding view of the road ahead. The middle row seats have sliding feature and can be moved forward or backward as per the need for space of the passengers. The AC has been mounted on the roof between the first row and the second row. It has 4 blowers with 3 speed adjustment and really chills the car right till the third row. You will never hear the third row passengers complaining on the lack of cool air at the back. The access to the third row is after folding the second row, which happens at the pull of a single lever. The access to the third row from the doors is also very easy thanks to the high roof and wide opening doors in the middle row. The third row is basically meant for young kids, but even adults which are less than 5"7' can sit comfortably in the third row, without complaining much. Even with the third row up, the boot area has enough space to house 2-3 cabin bags. Performance & Economy- The performance of the car has been pretty good in both city and highway driving. It has given a fuel economy of 15 Kmpl(In summers with full time AC) & 17-18kmpl(In winters) in city and 21Kmpl on highway(In Winters) The car tries to pull for power till 2000rpm, but once the needle crosses the 2000 mark, the turbo kicks in and gives the required power to pull you ahead of any traffic jams. Overall- This is the best MPV that you can buy giving the price point it comes in. Its a total Value For Money car as it offers you much more space and features that many other cars in the same price point. Adding on to this is the peace of mind with the Maruti Suzuki Service and Trust. Anyone planning to buy a car from 7- 10 lacs price range should definitely go for the ERTIGA.
