Curious Case Of Benjamin Button The Ameo is a rare compact sedan that's better equipped than its hatchback sibling and till priced lower. It has more features, more power, more space but doesn't look as well-proportioned as the smaller car. Safety VW is leading the charge in the safety department by offering ABS and dual airbags as standard equipment on all variants of the Ameo. This makes it one of the rare cars to come with the safety kit as standard. Drawbacks The car's back seat is low on legroom. A few parts of the car aren't up to the mark and VW charges a bomb to fix those (e.g. air con vent breaks easily and VW only sells them in set of four). Reliability isn't VW's selling point and the DSG automatic gearbox' track record has quite a few red marks. The resale of VW cars is poor because of the reliability concerns as it costs quite a bit to maintain once the warranty expires.
