Renault Kwid Killed my Money

I brought a new Renault Kwid 800 cc version last year in June. The car, as promised and marketed by Renault is way poorer in performance. Here is a brief review:- Mileage Renault promises a mileage of 24 to 25 km a liter, but in reality, the car has not till date delivered anything more than 12-14 kms a liter. Power It definitely feels under-powered, especially when driven with five people sitting inside the same. While climbing hills and slopes, the car lacks the punch. Built Still to early to comment on built quality, but it does feel cheap. There are unexplained vibrations in the body. It appears the car would get dismantled even in the smallest of bumps. Tyre Size The width of the tires does not offer fair grip at all. Probably, another cost cutting idea from Renault, but it definitely has killed the original purpose tires are built for - a wise grip over roads. Air Conditioning Air conditioning works does not work fine. But there are days when it simply fails to cool the first row, forget about coolness in the second row. Music System Music was created for soothing moods of people, but the music system in Renault Kwid has the potential of killing your mood at any point in time. High NVH levels with no speakers in the back are completely a waste of money. And to add to the misery, Renault says music system's warranty stands void if you add rear speakers with the system. Glove Box Glove box incorporated in the Kwids deserve special attention. If you are a Kwid owner, you would certainly be aware of the problem in its glove box. It does not close once its open. i have taken the car to Renault service center in Faridabad more than five times for the same purpose. They do not have a solution for it. All they do is clean or change the lock and make a sorry face. Body Roll Renault offers Kwid in the small car segment but its body roll cries it to be put in the SUV segment. If you try taking shape corners, the car will remind you to avoid the same next time, or be ready to meet the consequences. it does feel the car will overturn someday. Space This is one area where I will give Kwid 500 out of five stars. The boot space, the cabin space is all just marvelous, instead better than many 5 lakh cars out there on the road. Power Steering One of the best I have ever driven in my life, but again, body roll just kills the excitement the power steering in Kwid offers. Overall Experience I had brought this car with a lot of expectations, but feel cheated now. had it not been for a brilliant marketing campaign, I would have never placed my bets on a Renault product. Though I can cope with most of the problems, mileage is one issue that has hurt me badly. Renault has also not confirmed on CNG kit availability for the car. Please do your homework before buying any car and don't fall for ads and marketing.
