Alto k10- My First Car, My Forever Buddy

My first car story is very simple but surely the memories will remain special. I always hesitated in buying my first car as I didn't know driving. Finally, I zeroed on Alto K10 vxi which was launched recently and was looking for a better car than any other car in that segment. It was not huge so I thought it would be easy to learn driving. Added to this was the trusted name of Maruti. At that time my focus was to buy a small and comfortable car. So 5 years back, I bought the sunshine copper Alto K10. I was nervous but excited and this car never disappointed me. Easy to drive, stylish looking and good mileage. It is easy to drive and park in Bangalore traffic too. It is spacious, interiors look decent and luggage space is sufficient for a small family of four to five. Other features included Front Door Power Window, Manual Central Lock, Full Wheel Cover, Black Out B Pillar, Smart Key Off and Headlight On Reminder Buzzer etc.  I had to buy seat covers, music system and chassis polish additional. I didn't want power window at the back for safety purpose. Design and interiors: I enjoy driving this car even after so many years of my purchase. I can just move ahead of several cars in traffic making way for myself due to its compact size and design. It has Mp3 CD Player with USB support having Front Door Speakers, Piano Black Finish on central Console, Tachometer, Digital Clock, Both Side ORVM, Parcel Tray, super finish on interiors which provide nice Aesthetics and Cabin Looks. Sufficient leg space at front and back both. The exterior paint is intact and I don?t find the minor scratches very visible. Performance and driving: Driving is smooth and thankfully I never had to visit any mechanic for repairs. Only the yearly maintenance is sufficient to keep the car as good as new and running. I have taken it to nearby hill stations and it has never given any problems ever. No problems in the engine, not changed tyres yet, and never to get my engine opened too. After using it almost every day for five years, I can vouch for this car. It is quite comfortable and I have people of all age group in my family agreeing to this. Mileage: Mileage was low in the beginning but improved later, now it's above 15 kmpl for city driving. For highway, without traffic, I have even got 25 kmpl sometimes. So I guess that?s a pretty good mileage. Pricing: I bought it in 2009 for around 3.83. This is the best value for money I could find. Even now I don?t find my friends satisfied with their hatchback in this price range as satisfied as I am. Inference: To sum it up, I would say that this is the best car available in small car segment and a smart value for money too. If you want a small car and best performance, go for it.
