Over 17 years and three generation changes, Toyota Camry is still running in the country undeterred. And this is despite growing offensive in the SUV segment. The new Toyota Camry 2019 has been launched after a thorough thought process. Just yesterday I unintentionally dropped into a Toyota showroom and what I saw is a more upmarket sedan that speaks quality and luxury spot on. The front fascia has been comprehensively updated with new V-shaped grille LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The car also gets beautifully crafted LED fog lamps carefully fitted in air dams. At the back, the carmaker has given sleeker LED tail lamps with the turn indicators now placed in the center of the brake lights. The tail lamps are gorgeously bridged by a chrome applique on the boot lid. Inside, the new cabin design is more spacious than the earlier model with plenty of knee room. The car gets illuminated footwells, soft leather at doors and a lot of cubby holes. The vehicle also gets all-new steering, ventilated front seats which are 10-way power adjustable. The center highlight is the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with a range of buttons for controlling the system. The roof-mounted controls give access to sunroof and cabin lights. The cabin has been draped in soft-touch leather upholstery which makes the vehicle a comfortable place to be in. Overall, the new Camry will appeal a lot to people who love to be chauffeur driven. But for that, you have to spend around Rs. 40 lakhs.
